The QuickBooks POS system has multiple pricing tiers depending on the equipment and features you want, and how you’d like to process payments. The equipment is available for a one-time purchase and the payment processing allows you to choose from a monthly fee (plus processing charges) or pay as you go pricing.
Software Pricing
There are three plans for the QuickBooks POS software which is available as one-time fees. It comes with a 30-day free trial.
Basic
The Basic plan starts at $1,200 and includes the features you need to get your POS up and running. It allows you to ring up customers, take payments, use the CRM, track inventory, and integrate with QuickBooks Desktop.
Pro
The Pro plan starts at $1,700 and includes all the features found in the basic version. You’re also able to manage employees & payroll (through another Intuit product sold separately), offer layaway & gift cards, set up a loyalty program, and access advanced reports.
Multi-Store
The Multi-Store plan starts at $1,900 and includes everything in the previous plans. On top of that you’re able to manage multiple locations, shift inventory between them, and access reports that show the relationship between all your locations.
Hardware
The hardware used with the POS system is bought individually and doesn’t come with the software package. You can pick and choose the hardware you need and the prices range from $110 all the way up to $410. They have what you’d expect such as barcode scanner, cash drawer, receipt printer, etc.
Payment Processing Pricing
The payment processing fees for QuickBooks POS are a little different. They offer two tiers which can include a monthly fee.
Pay as you go
There are no monthly fees. You only pay when you process a transaction.

The way QuickBooks POS pricing is structured is daunting at first glance. Other POS providers offer a monthly subscription while QuickBooks doesn’t. The initial outlay is much higher than other services but it’ll result in costs savings after the first 12-18 months when compared to other services.
Note that they only support versions of the software for three years. For example, the 2016 version won’t be supported in 2020 so if you run into any trouble you’ll have to upgrade your software.
Thank you!
